Meet Our Veterinarians

Rachael Ragozzino, DVM

Rachael Ragozzino, DVM

Practice Owner

Dr. Ragozzino was born in Schenectady, and graduated from Guilderland High School before continuing her education at St. Lawrence University in Canton. She then traveled to Grenada to attend St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine, completing her veterinary degree at North Carolina State University.

She will always have a special place in her heart for Squishy, a Grenadian Pothound she adopted while in Grenada. At home, she currently has a dog named Dash and a mischievous cat named Sky. Throughout her career, Dr. Ragozzino has held several roles in the veterinary field—from Animal Care Technician in high school to Technician’s Assistant in college and Veterinary Assistant during veterinary school—before becoming a veterinarian in 2011. This well-rounded experience has helped shape her into the compassionate and skilled doctor she is today.

Dr. Ragozzino’s professional interests include surgery and oncology. She is passionate about utilizing digital medicine within her technologically advanced practice to provide progressive, high-quality care for her patients. In addition to her work with small companion animals, she is also an accomplished equestrian.

Samantha Weglinski, DVM

Samantha Weglinski, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Weglinski (AKA Dr. Sam) is originally from Duanesburg. After graduating from Duanesburg High School, she went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from Union College in 2011. Following undergraduate studies, Dr. Sam attended her first year of veterinary school at St. George’s University in Grenada prior to transferring to North Carolina State University where she obtained her DVM.

Following the completion of her veterinary schooling and clinical rotations, Dr. Sam practiced in Charlotte, NC for 3 years. Despite the warmer winters, she and her husband realized that Upstate, NY is where they belong and made the move back home in 2018 when she joined CAMC as an Associate Veterinarian. Dr. Sam particularly enjoys surgery and internal medicine. Additionally, she has a passion for helping clients understand what is going on with their pets and how to keep them happy and healthy for years to come.

Dr. Sam and her husband, Cody, are proud parents to their daughter, Scarlett, and son, Hudson. Their home is always full of energy thanks to their crew of fur babies, including five cats: Olive, Fig, Sushi, Jellybean, and Strudel and two beautiful yellow labs, Lemon and Crumpet.

Jessica Schiller, DVM

Jessica Schiller, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Schiller grew up in and attended Guilderland High School. She worked alongside Dr. Ragozzino as a vet tech assistant. She attended undergrad at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. She then studied at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Schiller has experience working with multiple species, including companion animals and wildlife; and has interned at multiple wildlife rehabilitation centers. At Companion Animal Medical Center, Dr. Schiller enjoys internal medicine and developing treatment plans to help her patients stay happy and healthy. Outside of CAMC, she loves to travel, especially to Disney, is an avid soccer player, and loves spending time with her Shih Tzus, Leo and Liliana.

Meaghan

Practice Manager

Meaghan has been with Companion Animal Medical Center since its opening, taking on many different roles as the practice has grown. Most recently, she stepped into the role of Practice Manager, where she oversees daily operations and property management, helping to keep the hospital running efficiently while supporting staff, clients, and patients. She plays a key role in ensuring the practice functions smoothly and that clients and patients have a positive experience from start to finish. Outside of work, Meaghan enjoys DIY home projects, spending time gardening, and listening to country music. She is happiest at home with her husband and is a devoted dog mom to her two rescue pups, Kasey and Axel. Kasey’s sass and Axel’s goofy, mama’s-boy tendencies keep life at home entertaining.

Dawn

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Dawn graduated from SUNY Delhi in 2004 with a degree in Veterinary Technology. Dawn has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician for the past 22 years, beginning her career right out of college. Dawn leads our surgical team and is an extremely skilled anesthesiologist. When Dawn is not in surgery, she performs ultrasounds for our hospital. Dawn and her husband enjoy their quiet life in the countryside with their 3 dogs; Earl, a goofy Great Dane who loves his mama, Betty, a beautiful and sassy Pomeranian, and Violet, a very sweet and lovable Great Dane.

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Kelly grew up in Rotterdam, and knew from early on in life that she had an interest in working with animals. Throughout the years, Kelly worked many different positions in the Veterinary field; her longest being 12 years as a Veterinary Technician Assistant. Knowing she wanted to further her veterinary career, she continued her education to earn her Veterinary Technician Degree through Penn Foster. Kelly is now a Licensed Veterinary Technician and plays a key role in our facility as Pharmaceutical coordinator. Her professional interests include diagnostics, dentistry and oral surgery. Kelly continues to live in Rotterdam with her husband, twin daughters, her silly Golden Retriever, Jake and her mischievous cat, Romeo.

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Ashley joined our team at the end of September 2021. She graduated from SUNY Delhi in 2020 and has since gained plenty of experience in the veterinary field. Originally, Ashley was hired to work as a LVT and Client Care Specialist. Now, she can be found all over the hospital from collecting blood and running cytologies in the lab to assisting our Doctors in appointments. Ashley resides in Rotterdam with her husband, her German Shepherd, Bailey, 2 adorable and playful cats, Hughie and Oliver, and Russian Tortoise, Leonardo.

Kathleen

Veterinary Technician Associate

Kathleen grew up in Voorheesville, and has been working with an array of animals (small, large, wildlife, and exotics) since a very early age. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Cornell University in 2014 and joined the CAMC team in 2017. Kathleen is currently finishing up her last semester with SUNY Delhi to become a licensed veterinary technician. Kathleen loves diagnostics, ensuring the hospital stays efficient and organized, and comforting scared pets with Fear Free methods. She recently moved to Altamont with her fellow employee & boyfriend, Adam. Together they share five rescue dogs – Rupert, an English Mastiff, Kiara, a Pit Bull mix, Reginald, a Cane Corso, Freya, an
American Bulldog, and Arthur, a Doberman. They also recently welcomed two cats into their home named Gus and Lilo.

Sarah P.

Veterinary Technician Associate

Sarah has been working as a Veterinary Technician/assistant for 6 years now. She started at a clinic in Florida, where she discovered her passion is working with animals. She is currently enrolled in a Veterinary Technician program and working towards becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She moved to New York in 2024 and started with Companion Animal Medical Center where she can be found in appointments, our lab, and most recently helping in surgeries. She was born and raised in Indiana where she grew up with several cats, dogs, chickens, fish, and even a couple iguanas. She currently has 1 dog (Luna) and 3 kitties (Bert, Ernie, and Lil’ B). While Sarah isn’t at CAMC, she loves to hike, watch movies, do puzzles, play board games, and spend time with family.

Sarah was born and raised in Rotterdam, and knew from early on in life that she had an interest in working with animals, especially horses, owning two of her own. After graduating high school, she attended SUNY Cobleskill for Equine Sciences, then Unity College of Maine for Animal Science, and is now in her last semester at Penn Foster to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her dog, Louie, her horses Max and Raven, fishing, and pet sitting.

Allison grew up in Rotterdam and has always had a true passion for animals. For the past 19 years, Allison has worked as a Veterinary Technician Assistant. At our clinic, Allison can be found at the front desk, assisting during treatments along with caring for hospitalized patients. Allison enjoys working closely with the clients and their pets which is obvious to all by the way animals respond to her. Allison lives with her son Max, Ernie a Basset Hound, and 3 cats – Minnie, Sonny and Steve.

Veterinary Assistant

Adam was born and raised in Altamont. He is the unsung hero of our practice and can be found jumping in wherever help is needed. He has a true passion for animals and has a knack for making nervous pets feel comfortable. Adam loves spending quality time with our hospitalized patients and makes them feel right at home during their stay. Adam recently bought a house in Altamont with his fellow employee & girlfriend, Kathleen. Together they share five rescue dogs – Kiara, a Pit Bull mix, Freya, an American Bulldog, Rupert, an English Mastiff, Reginald, a Cane Corso, and Arthur, a Doberman. They also recently welcomed two cats into their home named Gus and Lilo.

Harold

Veterinary Assistant

Harold grew up in Rotterdam, and graduated from Mohonasen High School in 2022. He started working at Companion during that time as a part-time kennel attendant. Since then he has become a full-time assistant and helps all over the hospital. He is committed to making animals feel as comfortable as possible whether that be during annual visits or while they stay for surgery. He is skilled in many tasks that help our hospital run smoothly such as restraint, sample collection, sanitation, and surgery prep. Harold lives at home with his dog, Gunner and his cat, Paws. He is an avid music listener but particularly enjoys rock & blues.

Tanya

Client Care Specialist / Supervisor

Tanya was born and raised on Long Island and moved to Delanson in 2012; where she and her family lived on a 50 acre horse farm filled with chickens, goats, pigs, and 15 horses. Tanya’s favorite part about working at Companion Animal Medical Center is how close-knit the team is. Her positive attitude and team oriented nature make her a shining star behind the front desk. Tanya currently resides in Rotterdam with her two Pitties, Zero & Sybil.

Chelsea

Client Care Specialist

Chelsea was born and raised in East Berne, where she loved riding and taking care of horses. Although she used to be a groomer she has been an incredible part of our front desk team. Chelsea enjoys chatting with clients and making sure every pet feels welcome the second they walk through the door. In her free time she loves to go hiking and enjoys the warmer weather so she can paddle board. Chelsea loves all animals big and small but loves her dog, Olive, and cat Posey, the most.

Client Care Specialist

Chloe was born in New York but has lived in various parts of the country. Over the years, she has cared for a wide variety of animals, including rabbits, dogs, rats, and birds. She enjoys the small, family-like atmosphere of the team and can be found throughout the hospital, most often greeting clients at the front desk. Chloe lives with her husband and their Yorkie, Versace.
